From another given task for my visual research, we were briefed on recreating our own version of the famous Richard Hamilton collage which had displayed a collage that captured the current affairs during that time.
This is the outcome of my take on the collage:

With this collage I had wanted to show how our everyday lives has been impacting the environment and how traditional ways have been changed (I had several objects to symbolise these matters).
Here are some things that I want to highlight:
- the building in the background in the gold pot is a visual play that gives the symbolism that buildings are now taking and rising over our lands (replacing trees)
- the devices on the coffee table symbolises that in modern day living one person is not satisfied with one device that can do all things that the other devices can do, and that we now use these devices to even read newspapers (a change from the past)
- the plastic bags hanging on the walls symbolises how we still excessively use plastic and with that it is resulting in waste everywhere we go all around the world
- the view from the window and the display on the tv show the result of our actions to the planet, how we are slowly destroying the land in which we live in and where many other creatures are in danger
In conclusion, I had found this task challenging for in order to begin, it required in-depth thinking to make sure that overall message is conveyed through the selected items. I personally feel that this is a good way in order to bring awareness or to bring a message across for it would be brought across visually (requires the audience to look closely at each item which would then require them to think what it could possibly mean).
Overall I had wanted to share this post for I had wanted to bring my message across to a wider audience through the aid of the collage.
