Here is a quick yet interesting article that I had recently read on Dezeen:
https://www.dezeen.com/2017/12/01/jason-bruges-studio-robot-installation-where-do-we-go-from-here-hull-city-culture-design-uk/
We living in a technological advancing society, I personally found it intriguing how many designers, such as teams within Jason Bruges Studio, are now incorporating masses of technology in order to bring many tourists to spots that weren’t very known.
In this particular article, the design team in Jason Bruges Studio, has installed six metre tall robots throughout Hull’s Old Town. These were programmed so that would interact with the public is different ways. Beacon of light are lit that locates each individual robot.
I personal think this is an exciting and a different way to bring connect the public to design for these robots were designed with precision in order to act a certain way. I was also interested in the article for we had a similar task in our visual research course where we briefed on creating an alternative tourist experience set in Edinburgh (I will blog about it soon).
Hope you found the article just as interesting as I did!
